Last night, I was editing some photos that I took at a wedding recently and I decided to have some fun with one of them. I wanted to create a kind of surreal look and feel. I chose this shot because I loved her eyes and their intensity. She seemed perfect (or at least the shot did) to try to do something fun.
After I was done, I showed it to my wife and she said that while it looked cool, she didn’t like it at all. I then showed it to a photographer friend who basically said the same thing.
So I am now wondering what to think. I still like it, but am I nuts? What do you think? I don’t think I would ever use it in a wedding album, but for something a bit different, why not? Right??

it is to me strange and simultaneously seductive. Perhaps it is by the glance and the photographic processing, almost unreal.
Warm greetings
Well, it depends on how you look at it. Personally i like it. However if you prefer more of a “Real” feel look you’ll probabaly not like it. I believe in mixing it up and pushing the envelope. Nice one chris!
It’s very artistic and I love it!
I think it’s fun to play around with different processing, which is the nice thing about shooting RAW. I’m not really digging this one, however. That being said, the shot itself is great!
Very Cool!
I like this kind of surreal processing, nice! Hope you had a great Happy Halloween!
I agree with your wife!!! Maybe since it’s halloween you can leave it up for the day – but then I’d take the shot down.
this is definitely more of an artistic form of expression…i wouldn’t call it a portrait. i think the post processing is rad! it is always fun to try something new.
I think this shot is fantastic and the processing is really different and interesting; however, I’m no sure about the reddish hue…to me it comes off a bit too harsh, again, the image is spot on!
An impressive treatment : like an Indian goddess !
hmm.. that’s weird.. despite the haloing on the right part of her head, i think it’s cool..
